He was sworn in at the National Museum of Fine Arts, the former site of the Philippine Congress, which his father, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Snr, shut down in 1972. In his inauguration speech, Marcos Jnr paid tribute to his father, who ruled the Southeast Asian country for two decades.
